Bebo Proxy
Let's start off with the definition of a proxy server. A proxy server is a computer system that gives computer users faster access to the websites that are frequently utilized by storing requested and recently used entries.
Now that you know what a proxy server is why don't we talk about what bebo.com is. Bebo.com is a website similar to myspace.com and YouTube.com. You can talk to your friends online, listen to music and/or watch music videos, and watch videos that people upload to the site. These are just a few of the things this great website has to offer. Oh, and I forgot to mention… it's free!
Now let's put the two words together and talk about what a bebo proxy is. A bebo proxy is a server (a system or a program on a computer) that services the requests of its users by forwarding requests to other servers. A client connects to the proxy server, requesting a service, such as a file, web page, or some other resource, available from another server. The server provides the resource by connecting to the chosen server and requesting the service on behalf of the client. A proxy server may change the client's request or the server's response, and sometimes it might serve the request without contacting the specified server.
A bebo server can be placed in the user's local computer or at specific points between the user and the destination servers or the World Wide Web. A proxy server such as a bebo proxy has two main purposes.
1. To Improve Performance: Servers can greatly improve performance for groups of users. This is partly because it saves the results of request for a certain amount of time that differs from computer to computer. Let me give you an example. Let's say that user 1 and user 2 access the World Wide Web through a proxy server. First user 1 requests a web page which we'll call page X. User 2 also request a web page that we will call page Y. Sometime later both user 1 and user 2 access the Internet again. User 1 would like to access page X and user 2 would like to access page Y. User 1 uses a proxy and goes right to the page he/she requested. User 2 types in a keyword on a search engine and scans through the numerous pages until he/she finds website Y. Genuine proxy servers support countless of users. Major online services such as AOL, MSN, and Yahoo employ an array of servers. A bebo proxy is genuine.
2. Proxy Server also can be used to filter a request. For example, a school might choose to block/unblock bebo.com to prevent/allow its faculty and students to not access/access bebo.
