BEBO is an international online community. It is the social network for this generation and the next. In fact, it is the largest social networking site in the UK, Ireland, and New Zealand; and in the United States, BEBO is the third largest site behind MySpace and Facebook. It is home to millions of registered users who share their photos, music, videos, blogs and design abilities. BEBO profiles have been created by everyone, including schools, groups, companies, music bands, and even high profile individuals: Queen Elizabeth and the Pope are both rumored to be have a BEBO homepage!

Creating a BEBO Account

Creating an account for BEBO is easy. The BEBO home page (bebo.com) has a recognizable entry point for usernames and passwords. To the right of this is a link, register. Click this link to begin creating your account.

The information you will need to create your account includes first and last name, and your desired username; as the website indicates, be creative - with 34 million registered members, most usernames are already taken! You will also need to provide your date of birth, gender, and country of residence. These details that you provide when creating your account will be available and visible to the other registered members of BEBO; only your age can be hidden should you chose to select that option. Lastly, you will need to provide your email address - this will not be made publicly available - and you will need to create a password for account.

When you are finished entering your information into the online registration form, click save and continue. This will complete your registration process. Be sure to review the BEBO terms of service as well; there is a convenient link with which to view them at the bottom, left-hand corner of the registration page. By clicking save and continue, and creating your BEBO account, you are agreeing to these terms of service.

Once you are registered on BEBO, you can maintain and edit your homepage by using the online forms provided. The top of your profile will contain the information you provided about yourself, like your name, and you can customize your profile with an image as well. There are also other headings within the homepage layout in which you can enter other miscellaneous, visible information.

BEBO Profiles

Your BEBO profile is what the world will see in this online community; it is your face in the social network. This is, of course, unless you chose to keep your profile private, which is an option. When your profile is private, your homepage will only be visible to your personal friends: the ones whose own profiles you have chosen to accept.

Besides your initial profile information and image, there are a number of ways to add to your BEBO profile. Your profiles can include a whiteboard, a place where other BEBO members can draw pictures with a variety of colors. Your profile can also include a comment section where other BEBO members are able to leave messages. Profiles can list your accepted friends' profiles as well. Other fun additions to your profile include image slide-shows, photo albums, and videos; there are also quizzes, polls and surveys for others to take as well. Profiles also have the ability to post and display blog entries as well.
